A public consultation about devolution for the Greater Essex area has begun. The consultation is being run by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and is taking place from 17 February 2025 until 13 April 2025. It is an opportunity for everyone in Greater Essex to have their say about devolution proposals for Greater Essex, which is the combined area covered by Southend-on-Sea City Council, Essex County Council and Thurrock Council. The consultation is open to residents, businesses, community and voluntary groups, and other organisations in Greater Essex.
