Southend City Council is the Data Controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for the personal data it gathers for the purposes of administering your registration and managing your communication preferences as detailed below, via this engagement platform.
You are providing your personal data on a consensual basis to the Council whose lawful basis for processing is for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority.
The personal data may be shared internally within the Council with staff who are involved in administering communications, and where applicable for responding to any requests for further information. Your personal data may also be shared with contractors appointed by the Council to manage information you provide via surveys, feedback and other consultation exercises. Your registration on the Engagement HQ platform will validated by an email authentication process administered by the service provider Engagement HQ. Your personal data will not be shared or disclosed to any other organisation without your consent, unless the law permits or places an obligation on the Council to do so.
The personal data is held and stored by the Council in a safe and secure manner and in compliance with data protection legislation and in line with the Council’s Records Retention and Disposal Schedule.
