Consultation has concluded
*Summary of Findings*
The summary report is now available (please see "Key Documents" on the right hand side of this page). The next steps will be the development of a Healthy City Framework underpinning a food policy.
What is Southend eating?
Southend-on-Sea City Council want to hear what Southend residents are eating and how the cost-of-living crisis is affecting people’s lifestyle choices.
A survey is launched online from 20th September to 11th October 2022 to capture the views of people from across Southend on Sea.
Southend-on-Sea City Council are looking to identify opportunities to support people to eat well and be healthy. It is vital that we hear from residents in order to understand what the Council and wider partners can do to help.
The survey will run until 11th October, with the findings used to inform council plans to support residents and reduce health inequalities across the city.
Healthy diet is one of many factors that influence peoples’ health and wellbeing during the lifecourse. An unhealthy diet is strongly associated with poor health outcomes and is a major risk factor for chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease as well as mental health.
And whilst the questionnaire is anonymous, all those that complete it are eligible for the chance to win shopping vouchers worth £200, plus two runners-up of £100.
If you would like to be entered into the prize draw, you will need to leave your email address at the end of the survey, so you can be contacted. All personal details provided will be deleted after the survey deadline has passed and the winner of the voucher will be contacted.
