Help shape how walking and cycling network improvements are taken forward in Southend
We’re looking for people to join our Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP) Community Group to provide detailed feedback on the LCWIP for Southend-on-Sea. The LCWIP sets out the strategic approach to improving the cycling and walking networks across Southend-on-Sea and is an important supporting document of the Local Transport Plan (LTP).
You don’t have to be ‘interested in transport’ to take part – if you are interested in making Southend a great place to live and work then we want to hear from you.
The Group will be co-ordinated by consultancy Steer on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council.
How you can take part
We’re looking for people from across the Southend-on-Sea City Council area to get involved.
The Group will be active from Dec 2025 to January/February 2026 and will primarily involve participating in two online Teams calls over that period (dates and times to be confirmed). You may also be asked to read short documents or listen to brief presentations to help inform the discussions and provide your views e.g. by completing a survey.
We want you to:
Provide your feedback on the LCWIP for Southend
Provide your views on priority areas and walking/cycling networks to be improved
Help inform how walking and cycling network improvements across Southend-on-Sea Council area are taken forwards
To apply
If you want to take part, please fill in our short survey, which will help us to recruit a good mix of local residents from across the city. There are limited places on the Group, and we won’t be able to take everyone. We will send you an email to let you know if you have a place or not.
Applications close on 14th November 2025
