Southend-on-Sea Borough Council would like to provide an update on the project in Shoeburyness.
Over the last year the Council has investigated the potential of these sites in greater detail, with site investigation works undertaken to assess the ground conditions and the location of utilities and services. As a result of the preliminary investigation the Fraser Close garage site which was previously identified as a potential candidate has been removed from this project. The revised garages (4 x Eagle Way Sites, and Anson Chase are highlighted below).
The Council has appointed Marston BDB to act as Employers Agent for phases 3 and 4 of the HRA Land Review following the conclusion of a competitive procurement exercise. In the coming months the Council will look to carry out a procurement exercise for the Architect and Design Team for the project.
There will be an opportunity for the local residents to express their views on design and highlight potential for community benefit (e.g. opportunities for landscaping works or efforts to increase parking capacity) once an architect has been appointed and design works are underway
Consultation has concluded
