We’re thrilled to announce that Southend-on-Sea has officially won a UK-wide seaside beauty contest to receive its very own edition of the iconic Monopoly board game!
This exciting news comes as part of Monopoly’s 90th anniversary celebrations, with Southend triumphing over 19 other coastal towns to secure this honour. The new Monopoly: Southend Edition will be developed by Winning Moves UK, under licence from Hasbro, and is set to launch in Spring 2026.
Help Shape the Board!
We’re calling on you to help decide which Southend landmarks and local icons should feature in the game. From the world-famous Southend Pier to the Cliffs Pavilion, Southend Central Museum, and beyond – your suggestions could become part of Monopoly history!
Even the Chance and Community Chest cards will be customised to reflect Southend’s unique character – and we want your creative ideas!
