Consultation has concluded
We are carrying out this survey to identify whether residents in Southend are experiencing Period Poverty and whether sustainable sanitary products can alleviate the financial burden of purchasing sanitary products each month.
Period Poverty refers to the inability to afford and access menstrual products, sanitation, hygiene facilities, education and awareness to manage menstrual health. A recent poll conducted by Action Aid in 2023 revealed that 21% (more than one in five) women and people who menstruate in the UK are now struggling to afford period products, this has risen by 12% from the previous year.
We have teamed up with Hey Girls, who provide sustainable period products, every sale they make is matched exactly as a donation to someone facing period poverty in the UK, all Hey Girls Products are environmentally friendly. At the end of the survey, you will have the opportunity to be a part of a focus group to trial a Hey Girls sustainable period product for free.
Survey is open for 12 weeks until 11 October 2024
