Standards for vehicle emissions, maintenance, and cleanliness
A new penalty points system to tackle non-compliance
Requirements for driver conduct, safeguarding training, and English language proficiency
Aims of the Policy

Safeguard the public, especially children and vulnerable adults
Promote a professional and reliable taxi trade
Ensure vehicles are clean, safe, and accessible
Support the transition to low-emission and environmentally friendly transport
Protect consumers and maintain public confidence in the taxi and private hire sector
We Want Your Views
