8. Connect and Protect - Parent / Guardian Safety Talks

This is a new project which we hope will benefit many parents/guardians/grandparents living in West Central area of Southend. The project aims to raise awareness of online safety and sexual violence which will be presented through talks from guest speakers with lived experience of these topics. The project aims to empower families with the tools and the confidence to be able to have those challenging conversations and by supporting them to become online safety heroes for the children in their lives. The project will also deliver age appropriate online safety sessions for children living in West Central, with a view to push this out to other areas of the city if proven successful. We will also offer families technical support around parental controls for devices such as phones/Laptops and I pads.
