Holiday Activities and Food Programme Expression of Interest 2021

Funding to deliver free holiday activities and healthy food during 2021 school holidays

Would you like to be part of an ambitious project to ensure that children and young people in Southend have the best summer ever?

We hope that community organisations and charities, schools, faith organisations, housing providers and others will respond to this call to express an interest in being part of this great opportunity.

Southend has been awarded funding from the Department for Education to deliver the Holiday Activities and Food programme in 2021. 

We are working with local partners on the provision of the Holiday Activities in the Easter, Summer and Christmas breaks in 2021, as well as food for the young people eligible for benefits related free school meals.

Funding is available to support these places. There are a number of ways in which you can be part of the programme and we would like to hear from anyone who can deliver activities, provide a venue, deliver enrichment activities e.g. gardening/cooking, provide food/catering or want to work in partnership with other organisations.

We are looking for providers in Southend that may be able to help provide any of the following:

• Provide a meal for children so that they eat more healthily over the school holiday.

• Provide engaging activities pupils can participate in over the holidays that they wouldn't usually take part in – to encourage children to be more active during the school holiday.

• Encourage pupils to engage in activities with their families that encourage them to learn something new, encourage healthy active lifestyles and have a greater knowledge of health and nutrition.

If you are interested and answered yes to some/all of the above criteria - please complete the following expression of interest. 

Deadline for completion of expression of interest is Monday 15th February 2021

Providers will be contacted by email once all expressions of interest have been considered. We will contact you on the week commencing 22 February 2021.
