Seafront

What was the survey about?

Southend-on-Sea City Council wants to better understand its residents' attitudes, behaviours and motivations relating to physical activity.

How will the survey be used?

Joint Strategic Needs Assessments (JSNA) are used to describe the characteristics of a place and its residents, offering relevant information to inform commissioning and planning decisions.

Forming part of a Physical Activity JSNA, the findings of this survey will be used to help inform Southend-on-Sea City Council's future plans to increase and sustain levels of participation in physical activity.

Who should take part in the survey?

We want to hear the views of everyone over the age of 16, whether you regularly take part in physical activity or not. The survey is focusing on the City of Southend-on-Sea, so we are keen to hear from people living in this area.

Consultation was open until 5pm 13th April 2025.

Update

The findings from this consultation were incorporated into the Physical Activity JSNA, this has now been adopted, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) - Physical Activity, a fundamental component of good health, not just for weight management but for overall well-being.
