Consultation has concluded
Background
The Leigh area, between Salisbury Road and Station Road, north and south of Glendale Gardens had been chosen for the pilot 20mph speed limit study owing to the street layout, available highway space and 85% speeds (the percentile speed average used to assess vehicle speeds)of the area.
Proposal
As part of the consultation prior to the commencement locations and diagrams of what we are proposing are contained in Leigh Options for Consultationand views were collected using a survey.
The Consultation
The consultation ran from 5th September to the 7th October 2022 and was open to all residents and businesses living or trading in the Borough.
Survey interaction
The main consultation was delivered through the Southend-on-Sea City Council online consultation portal. A total of 1,300 residents and businesses participated. The responses varied and 141 responded online, 3 hardcopy questionnaires were submitted and 8 letters.
The report with recommendations was approved with delegated authority.
