Consultation has concluded
The Consultation
We collated views about the proposed changes to Richmond Avenue, between Caulfield Road & St Andrews Road and Waterloo Road, between Richmond Avenue & West Road in Shoebury. The proposed changes include making the roads one-way and the introduction of a 20mph speed limit.
The rationale behind these proposals is to create safer streets and mitigate traffic dominance.
Survey interaction
The main consultation was delivered through the Southend City Council online consultation portal. A total of 372 residents and businesses accessed the campaign, and of that 45 responded online, 2 hardcopy responses by email, over 152 visits were made per day.
There was overall consensus from those responding that the project was supported and would make the area safer, some of the individuals commenting felt the proposals could be extended into other roads in the area.
Discussions are still ongoing on a way forward which will follow the Councils cabinet process.
