What’s your vision for Southend?

Do you live, work, visit or study in Southend? Whatever your circumstances or experiences, they are relevant to the City's Vision and direction.

By taking part in this survey, you can help to shape the refresh of the City's Vision.

What is the Southend City Vision?

The Southend City Vision will be our long-term ambition for Southend, guiding residents, communities, businesses, and organisations to enhance the wellbeing of residents and communities and fulfil their aspirations for the city over the next 10 years.

Up until recently we have had the Southend 2050 Ambition, which was developed after extensive conversations with people who live, work, visit, do business and study in Southend-on-Sea. However, six years have passed since its adoption and Southend-on-Sea has experienced rapid changes. We have become a city, experienced the impacts of a pandemic, the UK’s low economic growth and a cost-of-living crisis.

The Southend City Partnership is seeking to refresh the vision. The partnership is made up of the city’s strategic partnerships and organisations: A Better Start Southend, City Family, Essex Fire and Rescue Service, Essex Police, London Southend Airport, Metal, South East Essex AllianceSouth Essex Homes, Southend Association of Voluntary Services, Southend Business PartnershipSouth Essex Colleges Group, Southend Tourism Partnership, Southend-on-Sea City Council and University of Essex.

The Partnership is aiming to refresh and strengthen the shared vision for Southend to inspire and motivate the city's residents, communities, businesses and organisations. We are consulting with individuals and organisations to understand people's aspirations for the city and help shape the vision and its key themes.

The survey was open from Friday 30th August 2024 until Friday 22nd November 2024.
