Trutst Links stays Live during Lockdown

The local mental health and wellbeing charity Trust Links has had to shut the gates of its Growing Together community gardens over the last few weeks of lockdown, but is very much Live on social media and the internet. As the country was going into lockdown at the end of March, the charity launched Trust Links Live, providing a lifeline for many local people. Staff and volunteers from the organisation, which has community gardens in Westcliff, Shoeburyness, Thundersley and Rochford, livestream every day on Trust Links Live on Facebook. You can catch up with the videos by searching Trust Links Live on YouTube too.

As many people are isolated and worried about COVID, Trust Links Live provides wellbeing tips and guidance each morning at 10 am. Talented musicians, artists and photographers share their skills in the 11 am slot, with weekly yoga sessions broadcast on Tuesdays. At 3 pm Trust Links Live goes in the garden with horticultural tips and engagement with nature. The charity had more than 25,000 views of its livestream in the first month.

One of Trust Links's members said "Trust Links Live is a lifeline during this difficult time. I so miss seeing people and coming to the project, so having staff and volunteers on the livestream really helps me to feel connected."
