Eastern Esplanade Conservation AreaEastern Esplanade

Eastern Esplanade Conservation Area was designated in 1989 and consists of a terrace of mid-19th century cottages reputed to have been built for local fishermen. These buildings date from the period when Southend functioned as a small scale resort while it continued to have strong fishing and maritime industries.
