We are looking to implement the refurbishment of several playgrounds (park and play areas situated throughout) in the city. As part of this process the Council in partnership with Ground Control Professional Services team have prepared outline designs for the play areas within Southend and invite you to comment on the proposals.We are consulting on Play Areas for 7 parks, and we would welcome your comments. Play Area Improvement Consultation

Southend-on-Sea City Council are committed to supporting residents, businesses, and visitors with the switch to electric vehicles (EV). Our goal is to ensure charge points are installed ahead of demand to inspire confidence in drivers who have not yet made the switch to EV.This project is related to residential electric charge points across the city and is aimed at residents who do not have access to off street parking. The project is Government funded.The Government expects a minimum of 300,000 public chargers to be installed across the UK by 2030. To help authorities with this goal they have provided grant funding to subsidise private investment (from charge point operators). Where charging points are installed depends on many factors including:<ul><li>Where electricity capacity is available to accommodate electric vehicle charging</li><li>Where there is proven demand, and;</li><li>Existing local parking pressures</li></ul>By completing this <a href="/electric-vehicle-survey" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">short survey</a> and <a href="https://yoursay.southend.gov.uk/electric-vehicle-consultation/maps/ev-mapping-exercise" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">placing a pin on the map</a> your views will be collected then mapped to show where demand for electric vehicle infrastructure is highest.We cannot guarantee a charge point on your road, but our aim is to meet all areas of demand by providing charge points in the most convenient locations possible. Alongside this project Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking at the EV infrastructure around the City for businesses, fleet and visitors<h4>Consultation is open for 8 weeks and closes at 5pm on 9th May 2024</h4>
