Sexual Health Service Survey 2020
Sexual health is a key public health priority for Southend-on-Sea Borough Council. Our ambition is to ensure that sexual health services support the delivery of Southend 2050 outcomes; ”Southenders remaining well enough to enjoy fulfilling lives”.
In 2018, the Council carried out a consultation on the future of sexual health services and the findings were used to inform the procurement of the current service. The Council now needs to re-procure a new sexual health service contract for 2021.
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is consulting with the aim of improving patient experience. As we recognise that poor sexual health can be serious and costly for the individual, for health and social care services and for society as a whole.
The sexual health service will continue to provide; information, advice, testing and management of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI’s), contraception choices, pregnancy testing, and sexual health promotion; including HIV awareness.
We want to hear your views, experiences and ideas about how we can shape the new sexual health service and support people in maintaining their sexual health and wellbeing. We also want to ensure the services are inclusive, non-discriminatory, more accessible, effective and easy to navigate.
The results of this consultation will be published in the 2020. These this will be available on the Southend-on-Sea Borough Council site “Your Say Southend".
