Unmet Demand - Hackney Carriage, Driver & Owners ONLY

We have been commissioned by Southend-on-Sea City Council to undertake a Hackney Carriage unmet demand survey. Where a Council limits the number of Hackney Carriages that are licensed, the Department for Transport recommends that an unmet demand survey is undertaken periodically in order that the licensing authority may justify the numerical limit set.

As part of this survey, we are undertaking some consultation with members of the trade and within the trade consultation, we are inviting Hackney Carriage drivers and owners to provide their views. We would be grateful if you would answer a few questions about the Hackney Carriage trade in Southend-on-Sea City. We also welcome your views on any other aspect of the trade that we may not have covered in this questionnaire.

Completion of the survey is an opportunity to have your views heard and to demonstrate that you have an interest in participating in and enhancing the trade. The more responses we receive, the better we can demonstrate that those involved in the trade care about the future of the trade.

The survey will remain open for responses until 5pm 7th October 2024.
